Apple offers 2 development categories, the iPhone Developer Enterprise Program and Enterprise.

The iPhone Developer Enterprise Program is available to companies with 500 or more employees and a Dun & Bradstreet number. Your application will be distributed on the App Store and can potentially reach millions of iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users.

An Enterprise application is an in-house application for your company and can be distributed to your employees only.
